The Bad Penny recently launched a new program through Radio Free America that cherry-picks from the best new and upcoming heavy-metal releases.

The Radio Boise/KRBX show is called “The Violent Sleep of Reason,” named after one of the best albums of last year (h/t Meshuggah). It airs terrestrially on Wednesday mornings from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. Mountain Time in the U.S., and also airs live online here.

Listen to and check out the playlists for the first two editions of “The Violent Sleep of Reason” here and here.

The show spotlights the best metal tracks released during the previous week, songs from highly anticipated upcoming albums, and cuts by bands with recent or upcoming shows in Boise. The show also highlights one Boise-area metal band each week, right around 2 a.m.
