Ten years after Job for a Cowboy rode into the sunset with their fourth studio album, the best musical act ever born out of Glendale, Arizona—and yes, we’re counting Otep (cough) and Kottonmouth Kings (cough, cough)—are finally back in the saddle with a brand-new record.
But while the band is giving interviews galore, we decided to finally publish one from way back from 2009, with former and longest-serving drummer Jon Rice. Check out the lengthy discussion courtesy of New Noise.
Hop over to New Noise for the exclusive premiere of a grisly new video from extreme melodic death metal band Eternal Storm. While you’re there, take a gander at an interview with the Europe-based group’s bassist Daniel Maganto and guitarist Jaime Torres.
Seattle’s most snarling, skronk-alicious band returns March 8 to deliver their second album, Cloned. Go to New Noiseto read the first—and, thus far only—interview with So Pitted leader Nathan Rodriguez. While you’re over there, check out the exclusive premiere of the band’s video for Cloned album track “Muse.”
Visit New Noise to read my strikingly honest conversions with Serena Cherry, main guitarist and co-lead vocalist for Great Britain’s greatest post-hardcore band.
British Sea Power’s remastered 2008 LP is rounded out with B-sides and BBC live recordings which further immerse the listener in the time period. Read my FLOOD review here.
“It’s like my shadow self speaking to me and saying, “It’s not your time. Don’t tell yourself that. You’ll come through it.” Don’t treat depression as your best friend. Just let it go. It’s different being happy and clearheaded.”
USA Today, The Huffington Post, People and other media outlets are baffled as to why Cher is apparently trying to get in touch with Paul Giamatti. The answer is simple: Because, two months ago on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, the actor pleaded with the pop-music icon to be on his podcast.
During Giamatti’s latest appearance on Late Night, the frequent guest and 2024 Oscar nominee (for The Holdovers) told Colbert that Cher is the “dream guest” he wanted to have on his Chinwag podcast. Philosopher/author Stephen Asma co-hosts the program, which explores various conspiracy theories and altered states of consciousness.
When Colbert asked Giamatti to name the “white whale” guest he’d most like to have on the podcast, on which Colbert himself has appeared, the actor quickly answered: “The big game I want to bag is Cher.” The surprised audience began mildly applauding, to which Giamatti jocularly replied: “Can you feel that? Me and Cher in the same room, talking about Sasquatch?”
Later in the conversation — after Colbert mentioned that Cher is a fan of Giamatti’s hit Showtime program Billions — noted Giamatti formally invited Cher onto Chinwag. He remarked to the camera: “Cher, it’s Paul Giamatti. If you’re watching, baby, I’m here.”
