Talk about a Friday news dump: The Bad Penny learned exclusively this afternoon that Polymarket – the world’s largest prediction market, which lets gamblers bet on future outcomes such as the deaths of human beings, weather patterns and economic activity – will also offer opportunities to wager on whether the hugely anticipated new records by Evanescence, Sublime and Madonna will be mediocre, unlistenable or worthy of being set ablaze after a single listen.

Oh wait, it’s May.

Whatever.

We all know that, like stories in the Onion, whatever horrific cultural developments can be imagined will eventually come to fruition in the apocalypse-provoking era in which about two-thirds of us are suffering through.
