Tig Notaro’s Second Show at Treefort: Tix On Sale Tomorrow
One of the biggest acts to anchor this year’s edition of Treefort Music Fest in Boise isn’t even a musician.
Headlining Comedyfort, the self-described offshoot of the March extravaganza, is Tig Notaro. The veteran entertainer started performing more than 20 years ago and is now one of the most talked-about comedians in the U.S.
To wit, the Notaro performance scheduled for Comedyfort — specifically, at the Egyptian Theatre on March 25 at 8 p.m. — sold out quickly. Earlier this week, organizers announced a second show; they told the Bad Penny that it will happen on the same evening at 10:30 p.m.
Tickets for the late show go on sale tomorrow on Eventbrite.
If you’re unfamiliar with Notaro, you’ve got catching up to do with yer comedy. Even the Wall Street Journal’s crossword puzzle unit jumped aboard the Notaro train in September of last year:

Notaro’s huge leap in popularity over the past decade began with the 2012 release of Live, which documented an intimate performance by the comedian at a small venue in Los Angeles. In the extremely candid show, Notaro talked about getting diagnosed with cancer and other personal matters that weren’t initially intended for mass audiences to hear.
Subsequent video and audio releases of Notaro’s live shows documented her eventual recovery from cancer — and her catapulting into the public eye. The comedian now has Grammy and Emmy nominations, a new album (2022’s Drawn) and legions of fans.
Doors for each Notaro performance at Comedyfort will open a half-hour before showtime, organizers said.
