Wordle’d: At The Gates, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity Albums
At this time 15 years ago, At the Gates were in the middle of putting to tape one of the most critical chapters in all of melodic death metal: Slaughter of the Soul.
Around the same time, In Flames – one of the other two melodic-death-metal titans hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden – were crafting The Jester Race, arguably their most valuable contribution to the subgenre.
And, not to be overlooked, Dark Tranquillity were putting together The Gallery – which was recently inducted into Decibel‘s Hall of Fame and stands as another melodic-death-metal must-have.
In commemoration of that trio of classic records, and because the three aforementioned bands who produced them are so often lumped together, here’s a look at the albums’ respective lyrics, in relief:
