Pet Sounds #88: Strange Mono’s Strange Dog Product Promo Is the Cat’s Pajamas and the Bees’ Knees

Not entirely sure what this Strange Mono product promo means, or who it’s even trying to reach, but we adore it as much as our lab/hound. We’re pretty sure there’s a reference to the movie Seven in there, and maybe Jules Winnfield one too.

Strange Mono is owned and operated by Dan Timlin, one of our favorite collaborators, who warned in our On Tyranny series that MAGA might ban concerts in the U.S. and shared his love for dogs in a previous installlment of Pet Sounds.

Timlin wrote us Sunday: “It’s a mystery record. We wanted to do something for the summer, and we had heard from some of our followers that they were too broke to buy records since everything is so fucked. So we are doing this discounted $15 mystery record where we pick the record and mail it kind of like a blind box. It’s fun and most people that are buying it have gotten stuff from us before, so we can curate the pick for them a little bit. But yeah those pictures go hard lmao.”

For a minute (seven in dog years), paws to consider how rad it is that the kennel of underground music in which we reside provides us with the most precious creature comfort of all time like very few other communities in Authoritarian America: The freedom to be creative. And weird.
